It was a cold weekend but a knitted bicycle cardigan was an unexpected pleasure

Mon 23 April 2012

Whew, what  a busy weekend we had hosting Sarah Riches who is writing a feature about Little White Alice for Zest magazine.  Her and her friend Miranda braved the blustery elements to experience some of the great outdoor activities around us using Explorer bikes as their main mode of transport.

They packed a lot into their weekend with a cycle to The Star Inn at Porkellis for refreshments on Friday evening before dining on a delicious Courtyard Deli Supper Hamper in The Birch House and their first hot tub experience.  Saturday morning started with a yoga session at the Zed Shed with Lucinda Pimlott followed by breakfast in Miss Peapods.  Then a cyle down to Stithians Watersports where they sailed, wind surfed and ended up on WOW balls fueled by numerous hot chocolates in Cafe Nova.  Supper was readily devoured in The Golden Lion before you guessed it an evening spent star gazing in our hot tub.  Sunday they were woken by Brett from Explorer Cycle who took them on a 15 mile adventure around the Great Flat Load.  The weekend ended with a quick dip into Heartlands to catch the last of their fantastic opening weekend. And what did we find there but this magnificent knitted bicycle cardy!  Its a whole new world out there. I especially love the crocheted saddle warmer - so pretty.

We’d just like to thank all our wonderful partners who supplied meals, activities and good company to ensure that the Zest girls had a great weekend. Sarah’s highlight??  Well sorry to disappoint all you great activity providers but it was holding and naming her first chicken.  Bertie is the first of our girls to get a name!
